Recruitment to the Doctoral School of Medical University of Lublin(UMLUB)
Academic year of 2021/2022 - August-September 2021
The Rector of Medical University of Lublin announces a competition for 4-year education at the Doctoral School of Medical University of Lublin (UMLUB).
Candidates joining the competition procedure should demonstrate, among others:
- Obtaining a diploma of completion of 1st and 2nd degree studies or uniform Master's degree studies;
- Documented research results in the form of publications or announced at conferences, symposia;
- Active knowledge of a foreign language at B2 + level:
- in case of candidates with a mark in a foreign language supplement other than English, a certificate confirming the knowledge of English at the B2 + language proficiency level, i.e.
- IELTS passed with a minimum of 6.5 points and above
- CAE (Advanced) with each positive grade
- CPE (Proficiency) with each positive evaluation
- TOEFL passed 100-120 or 9-12 (paper and computer version)
- TOLES Advanced with each positive evaluation or- certificate from the Centre of Foreign Languages at Medical University of Lublin confirming the knowledge of English at the B2 + / language efficiency level.
A candidate for the Supervisor may be an independent employee of Medical University of Lublin, who in the years 2016-2020 had scientific achievements published in journals with the IF index and whose employment period at Medical University of Lublin does not end within 4 years from accepting scientific care for a doctoral student of the School at Medical University of Lublin.
Moreover, the Supervisor may supervise a maximum of 3 doctoral students of doctoral studies and the Doctoral School of Medical University of Lublin (in total). The number of doctoral students may be increased subject to the approval of the Director of the Doctoral School. Obtaining the consent of the Director of the Doctoral School should take place before the recruitment process commences, and the consent is a mandatory document submitted by the candidate. The form of the application and the consent of the Director of the Doctoral School is provided in Appendix No. 5.
The qualification procedure is competitive and is based on a score-based evaluation. For education at the Doctoral School of Medical University of Lublin (UMLUB) only those candidates will be admitted who, in the course of the recruitment procedure, will receive sufficiently high scores within the admission limits. Sufficiently high score is understood as obtaining a total of at least 50% of the points in the qualifying exam.
The competition procedure includes:
- Submission by the person applying for admission to the Doctoral School of Medical University of Lublin (UMLUB) of required documents referred to in § 7 sec. 1 point 1 and optional documents referred to in § 7 subparagraph 1 point 2 (the conditions and procedure of recruitment to the Doctoral School of Medical University of Lublin (UMLUB) for the academic year of 2021/2022);
- Assessment of the research project;
- Qualification exam, including checking the level of knowledge in the field of discipline, including the assessment of the ability to conduct discussions and formulate opinions regarding the area of the research project;
- Confirmation of the knowledge of the English language at the B2 + language efficiency level;
- Assessment of the achievements, abilities and predispositions of the candidate for scientific work.
- Establishing and announcing the list of people admitted for the first year to the Doctoral School of UML;
- Issue of a decision or certificate.
Candidates applying for admission to the Doctoral School of Medical University of Lublin (UMLUB) are required to submit the documents specified in § 7 of the conditions and recruitment procedure to the UML Doctoral School for the academic year 2021/2022, within the period of 16.08.2021 - 27.08.2021, at the seat:

Documentation should be submitted in white signed folders.
The candidate attaches a list of submitted documents certified by his / her own signature.
Documents drawn up in a language other than Polish or English must be translated by a sworn translator.
Application for admission to the Doctoral School of Medical University of Lublin (UMLUB), along with the documents specified in § 7 sec. 1 points 1 and 2 (conditions and procedure of recruitment to the Doctoral School of the Medical University of Lublin for the academic year 2021/2022), submitted after the deadline, shall not be considered, regardless of the reasons for failure to meet the deadline for submitting the application / documents. The date of submission of the application / documents is the date on which the documents were received by the Medical University of Lublin.
On September 24, 2021, a ranking list of people who, in the course of the competition procedure will obtain the highest number of points entitling to admission to studies in accordance with the limit of places will be posted on University's website.
The condition for admission is that the candidate, placed on the ranking list, is the providing of up-to-date results of tests and preventive vaccinations, i.e .:
- a certificate from an occupational medicine doctor - drawn up on the basis of a referral for research available at the Doctoral School Office,
- health book for sanitary and epidemiological purposes or a medical certificate for sanitary and epidemiological purposes,
- protective vaccinations against hepatitis B.
